Ask for your migration access code (MAC) when you telephone and for a copy to be sent to you by email. It should be noted that by requesting your MAC code you are not terminating your contract with your broadband provider, but simply enabling a seamless transfer to another provider if you do switch your broadband account.

The MAC code tends to have a life of just 30 days and after 30 days you will need to request another MAC code if you still wish to switch provider.
